MEMORIES OF THE TITANIC.

Columbus already has the Santa Maria, or at least a reproductionof Christopher Columbus' sailing ship, and now the city is gettingthe Titanic, or at least an artifact exhibit recalling the ill-fatedoceanliner. The exhibit will make its debut at COSI on Sept. 5. Itfeatures all sorts of artifacts recovered from the Titanic wreckage, including precious jewels, playing cards, bank notes, parts of a fire-resistant safe, letters, postcards and eyeglasses. According to COSIresearch, there was a strong Central Ohio connection to the Titanic, because there were first-class and third-class passengers who were ontheir way to Ohio via the doomed ship. For more info about the 15,000-square-foot exhibit, check out www.cosi.org.
